Friday's Letters

Fall watercolor photo.  I know it's extremely out of focus, but I promise it was on purpose!
Dear Friday.  You are a slightly cold, dreary, windy day of this week.  I don't mind since it'll give me an excuse to curl up with some hot chocolate and a new novel.  [And subsequently ignore all that needs to be done around the house.]  Dear autumn.  You've arrived with a vengeance.  I went to sleep one night, and awoke to a riot of color and cool weather.  Dear Germany.  So far, this is my favorite time of year in this country.  All of the festivals, the colors, the wardrobes.  I'm sure that will change when Christmas markets come back around, though.  Dear Ninja & Sass.  I understand how much you love our daily walks, I quite enjoy them as well.  But it's raining.  Like, all the time.  Cut me a break, ya?  Dear husband.  I woke up yesterday to a clean kitchen and living room, dogs fed and let out, and coffee waiting for me on the kitchen counter.  Seriously.  You're the best ever.  Dear house.  While you are kind of an older home, and therefore things don't always work the way they should, I didn't realize that this also meant you have absolutely no insulation at all.  I am freezing all the time, and winter hasn't even hit yet.  Gr.  Dear Nikon.  I haven't really brought you out much lately due to weather and a very legitimate fear of destroying you in the rain, but today's walk was a perfect chance to reconnect.  I've missed you so.  Dear readers.  I hope I've been doing a tad better on the posting and replying side of things.  Next I tackle my sponsor challenge; you all will be getting tons more recognition in the future.  Maybe that tempts some of you others to ad swap as well?  Dear Janan.  I seriously just finished reading your Facebook message to me, and it made me so so homesick.  I miss you.  Dear everyone else in the States.  I miss you all as well.  Family, friends, Chick-fil-A.  You're in my thoughts every day.  Dear weekend.  I'm supposed to have two photo shoots over the next couple days, so please help this weather clear out soon.  Danke.

  1. Oh me, me! I want to swap :) I've been thinking about starting to do the ad swap, I'll try and get it together today during Little Bug's nap time!

Hope you have/have had a nice cozy day at home on this chilly and rainy day!

  3. My BF is always up before me on weekends and I love it when he gets chores done before I am out of bed! :)
I am sporting your button already. (I think I have too many "Daily Reads" but I need to figure out how to rotate them...? I don't want to leave anyone out!) I've just recently got my own button(s) made. I'll delve into Passionfruit this weekend and shoot one over. :)

  4. Hi, I found you via Talia Christine, and I really like your blog so far! You have such a nice, relate-able voice. Doesn't hurt that I'm also into travel, books and photography ;) I also like the concept of a Friday letter- most other blogs do a list of links on Fridays, which is cool, but I like seeing something different.

(On-purpose blurry pic is super fantastic, by the way)

  6. I've been having the same troubles with my blog as well. Sometimes I wish I could just quite my day job so that I could focus entirely on blogging! Maybe one day! Love the idea of featuring sponsors on your blog, I have been wanting to do the same.

  8. I love your "Dear Husband" part of this! Men think we are high maintenance and hard to shop for, but in my opinion a clean kitchen and happy pups is the best gift I could ask for! It's the little things that matter to me :-)

I respond to every single comment, but only via email. If you don't have an email linked to your account, then I won't be able to respond to you! That doesn't mean I don't read your notes, though. Every single one makes my day better.
