Friday's Letters.

Japanese Tower in Brussels, Belgium
Dear Friday.  I feel as though I've done more in the past week than I have in the past two months.  Dear Alyssa.  Our Euro road trip was the best fun I've had since moving to Germany, and I can't wait until the next time we have the chance to wander aimlessly.  I miss you!  Dear Husband.  FOR SURE less than a week until you get home.  I've got about a thousand butterflies that have made a home in my stomach, and I absolutely cannot wait until I can jump into your arms at the airport.  Dear Netherlands.  We found out that Eindhoven has an amazing shopping district, but the carnival we happened upon was probably the best entertainment in the city.  Dear Belgium.  Brussels was soooo much fun, and Antwerp was pretty amazing, but I definitely do not miss your crazy drivers.  They need to organize themselves and stay in their own lane.  Dear Luxembourg.  I love you, and your insane amounts of underground tunnels.  Dear Trier.  We didn't stop long to visit the oldest city in Germany, but what little we did see was wonderful.  Since you're only an hour away, I'll definitely be seeing you again.  Dear prospective European travelers.  I think we discovered the best way to travel through the EU...don't make any plans.  Not a single one.  Pick a couple cities, drive to them, then find a post card stand; on their postcards, you'll see various attractions.  Walk around to find them, and on the way, you'll discover even more amazing things that you otherwise wouldn't have seen.  Our greatest lack of planning ever.  Dear U.S.  I love and miss you, but I'm kind of sad that you don't have as much history as Europe, nor are your city streets as pedestrian friendly.  Dear France.  We cut you out of trip since we were so exhausted, but I will be visiting at some point in the near future, especially for Christmas Markets this winter.  Dear pups.  I thought I missed you a lot, but coming home the day after I picked you up to find that you both had eaten all my Belgian chocolate made me kind of dislike you.  Maybe you should go back to the sitters.  Dear readers.  Be prepared for photo overload once I sort through my hundreds of pictures of our trip.  It's going to be LEGEN- wait for it -DARY.

  2. Seems like you guys had a blast on your trip! I love your travel mode "drive somewhere, look at postcards, then try to locate the sights" - sounds fun! Hope your dogs aren't sick because of all of the chocolate! =) xo Anja
